WHAT IS THE DATE NIGHT CHALLENGE??Lately my hubby has been saying that the only "dates" we go on involve grocery shopping and dinner - sad to say, he was right!  Sure, every once in a while we go and do something, bute needed to shake things up a little!
I started thinking about dates we went on before and things I would like to do now.    I also started thinking about how I always think about things to do and never do them -- so, God gave me a great idea:
My hubby and I are both up for the challenge!

We started the Date Night Challenge by challenging couples to go on 10 dates in 3 months.  We have had a blast with this challenge and so have some of our friends - check out our photos below!
The three months are passed but we would like to continue the challenge!
Our challenge:
Date the one you love!
Make dating a priority.
Chris and Stephanie White

Below you will find some ideas for dates.
Keep checking this page for
new date ideas!
We went on the "Library Date" and learned about owls - we are trying to spot one that we keep hearing at night!
We also went bowling!  And, believe it or not, I won!  : )
We also did
 the Grocery Store Challenge Date!
What fun!!  And it ended in a tie - or at least that's what my hubby says!  LoL!
We had a Date Night Challenge Scavenger Hunt with some of our favorite friends and it was a blast!
Check out some of our photos:
* Go to the YSU planetarium (or any planetarium in your area!).  The shows are usually free!
*Dinner and a movie night.   Make this movie night special!  Pick a movie and then plan a meal that goes along with the movie.  A friend of ours does the "Twister" dinner with her family.
*Go on a free factory tour.  Surf the web for factories in your area that give free tours.
*Cook together - and I mean each person has to cook!
*Challenge each other to a cook-off!  Pick a category - cookies, cakes, etc. and then get cooking!  Have a family member, friend or neighbor do a taste test.
*take pictures together.  (If you have 2 cameras it will go a little faster.)  Go to one of your favorite places and get pictures from each person's perspective.   You can even make a little scrapbook.
*Go on a Scavenger hunt.  Each person makes a list for the other person to find.  This could be as simple as things around your house or as complicated as you want it to be.  Set a timer and the one who finds the most wins.
*Have a "His Night" and "Her Night."  If it is "His Night" he gets to pick what you do and if it is "Her Night" she gets to pick!  And
*Host a theme party for other couples.  Get into this challenge with a couple friends and enjoy a night together.  Each couple can be in charge of bringing something.  You can dress up, play games, and so on!
*Plan an exercise class at home and exercise together.  Make a healthy dinner to enjoy after.
*Go to the library and learn something new together.
*Read a book together.  Take turns reading chapters.  (Pick a mystery and try to solve it together.)
*Go through a devotional book together.  Staying in the Word together is something that will make your relationship blossom!
*Do a "cooking class" at home.  Find a recipe you never made before and make it together.
*Go on a tour downtown.
*Hang out at the park for an afternoon.
*His and Her Movie Night.  Each one picks a movie and you watch both!
*Have a Game Night - board games or video games.
*Host an activity for the teen class or kids' class at your church.
*Do something nice for someone else as a couple - anonymously.  Sit down and put your heart into it - decide together and do it together.
*Backyard Olympics.  Create some games / challenges for each other and then compete.
*Make your own "Dream House" board on Pinterest.
*Do your own "drive-in."  Bring a TV or a laptop outside and set up a cozy spot and enjoy a movie under the stars.

Appetizers at one place, dinner at another, and dessert at yet another!  Make sure you take turns picking!

Zechariah 10:5
Together they will be like mighty men trampling the muddy streets in battle. Because the LORD is with them, they will fight and overthrow the horsemen.
1 Thessalonians 5:11
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
Romans 12:10
Be devoted to one another in...love. Honor one another above yourselves.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:.
