*it is never a bad time to get your home organized! Recently, I decided to attack organization ferociously!
I want to share some tips and tricks I have learned along the way. Room-by-room, you can become a king or queen of organization!

A HAPPY HOME IS A CLEAN, ORGANIZED HOME!!
Taking care of your home is a blessing that we sometimes overlook. God has really blessed me by teaching to enjoy everything about life. Don't dread the clean-up; find a way to enjoy it!
I love to clean to music. Turn on your favorite CD and go! The music really helps the time pass. Make sure you listen to something that feeds your Spirit - Christian music is such a blessing to me! Take advantage of the talent God has given to so many.

Always remember that you cannot do everything in a day!
Take your time!
It is a good idea to make yourself a list of all you would like to accomplish and check things off as you go.
IDEAS & TIPS
*make a cleaning schedule. Sometimes just knowing that "Tuesday is laundry day" is enough to keep you motivated.
*keep up with cleaning out the fridge - you don't want to find any 3-month old egg nog!
*go through your medicine cabinets and throw out expired meds and vitamins.
*go through your make-up ~ it is out with the old and in with the new. Splurge on yourself!
*clean out cupboards, drawers, and dressers.
*keep up with washing your sheets and blankets. Sickness seems to overtake our church during the winter and keeping things clean really helps us avoid it --- to a certain degree!!
*Peg Boards are a great way to organize the garage. You can hang just about anything on them.
*designate areas in the garage. Put all of the children's play things in one spot and they won't have to tear the garage apart when they want to play.
*paint your garage and pretty it up!
*add a "Key Board"
so everyone can keep track of their keys! I bought some inexpensive ($1 each!) car cut-outs and bought some hooks and started painting!
*I have my own corner in our garage and I love it! The garage is not just for men! LoL!
Invest in a few cupboards and container and it will really help you stay organized. All of my car cleaning supplies are tucked neatly away and I know just where they are!
*give your family a warm welcome! I painted the door and added some vinyl lettering and now my hubby and son are reminded of how happy I am to have them home!
*always keep up with your fridge and freezer! If you do this, a major tear-down can be avoided!
*organize your pantry. If you do this, it will be easier to find what you need. This will also help you make your grocery list - if all of your tomato sauce is one spot it will be easy for you notice you are down to 1 can and you can add it to the list instead of being surprised when you start to make your famous sauce.
*take an old boot or shoe box and cover it with some pretty scrapbook paper and use it to organize your coffee cups and such.
*clean out your utensil drawers and cupboards twice a year - at least.
*clean out under your sink. Throw out old cleaners and such at least once a year. Organize by buying plastic containers. Have a container for dish washing soaps, one for hand soaps, and one for misc. cleaning products.
*get rid of what you don't need!! I know it can be hard to part with things sometimes, but if you haven't used it in a year or so, it needs to go.
*laundry does not have to be the dreaded chore! Enjoy laundry a little more by cleaning up and decorating your laundry space.
*making your own laundry soap is a great way to save money!
Check out the homemade laundry soap recipe below and try it! I was skeptical at first but I love it!!
*also, store your ingredients and finished product in glass jars to make everything look pretty!
FOR 1 GALLON:
4 c. water
3 T. borax
3 T. washing soda
2 T. Dawn dish washing liquid
Boil the water. Add the next three ingredients and stir until well dissolved. Use 1/2 - 1 cup per load of laundry. If you have a stain it is a good idea to pre-treat.
CLOSETS AND DRAWERS
*using baskets and containers will make any closet more organized.
*I also made a basket especially for my hubby and my son - every time they say, "Where is..." I can refer them to THEIR basket! This is very helpful!! LoL!
*Investing in a closet organizer is well worth the money. It won't be hard to find your favorite gloves or scarf when you are organized.
*make use of every space! Even under the stairs!
*hooks and shoe organizers can help
you store a lot!
*make sure you look in clearance aisles for organizational products! You never know what you may find.
